KAJIAN AKSES MAKAN HAMA KUMBANG BUBUK PADA TANAMAN JAGUNG OLEH PENGARUH PERBEDAAN VARIETAS DAN BENTUK BIJI

ABSTRACT 
Research aimed to see the effect of varietal differences and seed types to the preference of Sitophilus sp. in their food searching had done at Balitjas Laboratory. Research was arranged in Randomized Completely Design replicated 4 times. One hundreds seed consists of 4 varieties which were categorized into two seed types i.e flat and cylindrical were isolated in a small glass then put together into rounded big jar that arranged circulary. As much as 400 of homogenous adult insect were exposed to the jar in the dense of 50 insect per glass. Number of insect that sticked on each glass and 
their mortality were noticed at 24,48 and 72 hours after insect exposure. Other parameters that also noticed were, seed damage, weight losses and the progenies appearance. Result indicated that insect preference that found in Semar-2 and Lokal Putih varieties was more higher than that of Arjuna aswell as Koasa both that scored in flat seed type and cylindrical. Progenies appearances, rate of insect damage and weight declination were also more higher found in Semar-2 and Lokal Putih varieties than of Arjuna and Koasa.
